The 1st annual Nonantum Village Day is progressing very well through the many presentations, documentations, & approvals, through the various government committees.  Who knew... What ever happen to "Hear Ye, Hear Ye lets gather in the village".  We have gotten a great response from local and surrounding village vendors.  So it looks like we are going to have a Great Time.  I have worked very hard at making the process run smoothly.  All vendors, businesses, and residents who have submitted a registration form to me will receive information 1 week before our event to solidify what you are going to be doing for Village Day and instructions on what to do the day of.

To reiterate: Village Day is to bring camaraderie to the neighborhood, and to promote businesses in this Village.  We have gotten a permit to block off Watertown Street from the corner of Dunking Donuts ( Adams Street will remain open ), to the west corner of West Street (at LaSposa Bridal Shop).  That is the area our insurance, and permits for land-use covers.  The street will be blocked off from 9:30 to 3:30 on June 3rd. Please contact me if you have any questions concerning vendors, information, or questions.  It's not to late to register... I have a couple of prime spots still open.

Lois is a just amazing and has worked so hard to make this happen in our community. Nonantum will have it's first Village Day and we could not have done it without Lois and her hard work and determination to have a successful day. Thank you Lois!

Right here in Nonantum, on Watertown Street - there could have been two deaths

While walking from the post office a young woman bolts out of a store-front door and rushes past me.   She runs up the street clicking her automatic key fob to unlock the doors of an SUV parked three cars up the street at a meter.  In the car is a small child an a toddler!

Were the children sleeping when she arrived to run her errand?  Was she only going to be a few minutes?  Who knows the answer.  She ignored me when I told her that leaving her children in a locked, parked car, with the windows up, ( in the sun ), was a bad idea.

I know as adults we don't like to be told the obvious - but; PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN IN A PARKED CAR - EVEN FOR A MINUTE

I have done CPR on a child - an experience I NEVER want to repeat!

Wow! I am speechless! How could a parent jeopardize the safety of their children even for 1 minute? I know their are too many laws and how many do we create but a punishment for such a ludicrous act as such should be heavily fined!

Ya, I think we all would be surprised at how many near misses there are out there. It also amazes me how indignant people (unfortunately usually woman) get when you call them on it. But, I would do it again.
